Turbulence
Poetry -- I spent several years studying, among other things, the effects of atmospheric turbulence on the propagation of electromagnetic radiation. It's a very interesting and challenging subject, one that relies heavily on chaos theory. This is a link to a neat little poem by a fellow named Lewis F. Richardson.
